Fruto Lounge Chair is inspired by the untamed, natural growth of fruits, particularly tomatoes. The way nature guides fruits and vegetables to grow is fascinating and creates beautiful compositions that are simply dictated by its surrounding environment. Julia wanted to take this idea of natural and imperfect growth and apply it to a soft upholstered seat. The pleats in the upholstery are determined by the way the fabric naturally settles. The strips laying on top of the form replicate the unpredictable setting in which fruits grow naturally. Fruto Lounge Chair is fun, comfortable, and unexpected.
